TLS Director – Matthew Lawrence, Chartered Mediator

For over twenty years, Mr. Lawrence has worked with TLS Enterprises, as a consultant, Co-Director, and Director. His work with TLS includes mediation, investigation, group facilitation, and training. He has been the Lead Investigator on investigations related to workplace violence, sexual and racial harassment, and bullying. He has training and experience with violence and harassment as it relates to the new legislation under the Canada Labour Code (Bill C 65). He is on the National Standing Offers to provide Investigative Services for federal government departments, both in regard to harassment and workplace violence (1995-Present). He has designed and conducted organizational and administrative reviews, with various organizations from small to large (10 staff to 2000 staff). A number of these involved sexual or racial harassment and workplace violence.

He has designed and delivered training on workplace bullying, handling harassment or violence complaints, developing respectful organizations and conflict resolution.

As a mediator, Mr. Lawrence has mediated both interpersonal as well as large group conflicts. He has conducted over 200 conflict resolution processes in the last 15 years, specifically related to workplace conflict as well as insurance claims, community disputes and criminal matters. He was a mediator in the Court Diversion Project, a joint venture between Mediation Services and Manitoba Justice. He has provided mediation services on contract for the Manitoba Human Rights Commission, the Canadian Human Rights Commission and Manitoba Public Insurance Corporation.

Matthew Lawrence is a Chartered Mediator with the ADR Institute of Canada and is also certified internationally through the International Mediation Institute (IMI). Mr. Lawrence is a certified Conflict Coach and is also trained in Conflict Dynamics Profile assessment. He has a BA (Honours) degree from the University of Winnipeg and has a Diploma from Mediation Services of Winnipeg in Conflict Resolution.
