Bev Suek

Is the Director of TLS Enterprises. For over 20 years, Ms Suek has managed projects for organizations across Canada including harassment investigations, staffing investigations, organizational and administrative reviews and the development of respectful workplaces.

She has 30 years experience as a senior manager in the private and the public sector. As a consultant, she has worked with companies across Canada, consulting on management development, harassment prevention and human rights issues.

She was the CEO with the Women's Enterprise Centre from 2002-2005, which assists women starting or expanding a business and provides business loans from a portfolio of 5 million dollars. In this role, she developed a human resources system that emphasized employee participation, wellness and respect. She developed a Governance manual and system for the organization.

From January 2000 until 2002, she was the Chair of the Board of Manitoba Lotteries Corporation, a Crown Corporation with over 2000 employees and gross income of 5 billion dollars. She oversaw a comprehensive organizational review of both finances and human resources and initiated the development of a governance system.

She was a Commissioner with the Provincial Civil Service Commission for 13 years, which is a quasi-judicial board hearing appeals on staffing, classification, dismissal and conflict of interest.

Ms Suek, before starting her business, was Manager of Labour Education and Human Rights, conducting mediations and investigations and working with organizations on quality of worklife, participatory management and employment equity development.

Ms Suek is also an active volunteer with community centres, human rights organizations and other community based organizations. She is the author of publications on the future of work in Canada, quality of workplaces, and enterprise development.
